Okay, this one is either really dumb or uncomfortably accurate, depending on how much news you’ve consumed lately. Either way, it landed just right.
The ornament itself is well made. Solid weight, clean paint job, and the details are sharp enough that you don’t have to explain the joke. Uncle Sam casually torching a “cigar” with a wad of hundreds does all the talking. It got laughs, a few winces, and at least one “yeah… that tracks” from people seeing it on the tree.
It walks that fine line between funny and a little too real, but that’s part of the charm. It’s not mean-spirited, just pointed enough. We hung it slightly out of view, and annytime anyone really looked at the tree, you could tell from the next room when they discovered the ornament.
If you’re gifting this, know your audience. Political humor isn’t for everyone, but for the right person, this is a home run. My only knock is that it’s not exactly subtle, so it’s probably not going on Grandma’s traditional tree, no matter how much we wish it was.
