Tree Buddees x Kentucky Derby Limited Edition Churchill Downs Horseshoe

As someone who never misses the Kentucky Derby (it’s practically a holiday in my house), this ornament felt like a fun way to bring a bit of that excitement into my Christmas décor. When it arrived, I was honestly surprised by how nicely done it was, sturdy, detailed, and just really charming in person.

This ornament is very colorful and well made. It's sturdy enough that I am betting my cat won't be able to break it when he knocks it out of the tree. This is very giftable and comes in a reusable box with a huge Styrofoam holder for the size of the ornament. The box says it is a Kentucky Derby Official Ornament, but I'm not sure if that means it is sanctioned by the Kentucky Derby or not. Either way, it's a beautiful ornament.

I’m a fan of this resin ornament, largely because I love horse racing and the Kentucky Derby. It holds a lot of nostalgia for me, so I was excited to add it to my collection. The ornament is solid and fairly heavy for its size, measuring about four inches across. Since it’s resin, I assume it could break or chip if dropped, especially if you have pets with active tails like we do. Something to be mindful of.

It fits well in a standard ornament storage box and looks great on the tree. The only slightly odd detail is the hand painted eyes on the people. Hand painting gives it character, but the eyes look a little strange once you notice them. To be fair, the product photos show the same thing, so it isn’t a surprise if you look closely ahead of time.

Overall, it’s a high quality ornament with a lot of charm, and I’m very happy with it.
