This poor little guy arrived with an antler snapped clean off, which somehow felt… on brand. Like, of course the injured reindeer showed up injured. One tiny dot of superglue later and he was back in action, dignity mostly restored.
Damage aside, this ornament is genuinely delightful. The crutch, the cast, the neck bandage, the deer crossing sign. It’s doing a lot, and that’s exactly why it works. He looks deeply annoyed at life and appropriately resentful of cars, which is the energy I want on my tree.
Once repaired, he hangs just fine and feels solid enough. The details are clear, and the joke reads instantly. Everyone who noticed it laughed and then immediately felt a little bad for him, which I think is the goal.
Would I have preferred him to arrive fully intact? Sure. Did the accidental realism somehow make it better? Also yes. If you like your holiday decor slightly banged up and very self-aware, this one delivers.
