Boy, did I feel silly when this one arrived at my doorstep. .. Wait. Scratch that. ..when it arrived in my mailbox.
Up until that point, I thought I was ordering a Halloween decoration. My son wanted to hand out candy on Halloween, so we needed to get in the spirit of things and do a bit of decorating. I saw this grave marker and thought it would be a neat thing to put in front of the tree in our yard. As in, on the ground in front of a tree as an actual head stone would be. Still oblivious to the fact that what I had ordered was an ornament, I went out to retrieve it.
Where is it?
Ugh, ok let's see where it says they dropped it off at.
In the mailbox...?
It fit inside the mailbox?
Hmm, maybe it's made of foam or something that can squish down and bounce back to shape.
...or maybe I just ordered a Halloween decoration for our Christmas tree. Wow.
Alright alright, so I could've paid closer attention. I should've noticed the loop on top in the picture. Is it just me, or does it seem that it is easier than it should be to mistake a picture in a listing for something else entirely, or the same thing, but a much larger size? I suppose we can leave that question to be answered as individuals.
The ornament itself was nice. The art work was detailed and accurate. It had a perfect weight to it, not too heavy that weighs down a branch and not so light that you feel like it will break easy. Am I going to put this Halloween head stone ornament on my Christmas tree? I am now. Would I put a decoration like this on any Christmas tree if my little situation hadn't happened as it did? Only if it was a Nightmare before Xmas themed tree. Otherwise, no. For what it is, to be fair it is a good product deserving of 4 stars. It's creative, clever, and executed well. The pictures in the listing may or may not be misleading.
